Students in town to shadow medical support community

Aera Shin is studying biochemistry at the University of Washington and is scheduled to graduate this year. She is shadowing the medical providers during her stay at Odessa. She says she is very interested in emergency medicine, particularly in rural areas.

“Much of my passion for medicine,” she says, “stems from my personal encounters watching my immigrant parents navigate their way through health care in the U.S. and my Christian faith.” In her free time, Shin enjoys reading, playing tennis, playing the piano and spending time with family.
