Baseball season opens with four straight wins for O-H

On Tuesday, March 19, the baseball season opened for the Odessa-Harrington Titans with a double-header at home against the Davenport Gorillas. The Titans took the first game, 8 - 0.

The O-H battery consisted of Justin Hunt and Stetson Sanford. Hunt was the winning pitcher over Connor Van Pevenage.

Getting singles for the Titans were Sanford, Carsen Weber, Cade Weber, Markus Smith (3), Hunt, Nick Tebow and Gabe Henneman. Doubles were hit by Smith and Tebow. RBIs: Sanford 1, Hunt 2, Tebow 2 and Smith 2.

The second game was also won by the Titans, 8 - 3.

Markus Smith was the winning pitcher for the second game of the double-header against Davenport, with Sanford again at catcher.

Sanford, Tebow and Nathyn Winslow all had singles for the Titans. Cade Weber, Smith and Hunt each had two singles. Cade Weber, Smith and Tebow all also each had a double in the game. RBIs: Cade Weber 1, Smith 1, Hunt 1 and Winslow 2.

On March 23, the Titans played another double header at home, this time against Cusick. They won the first game, 15 - 0.

Hunt had a 4-inning perfect game, giving up 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors. He gave up no walks and had 9 strikeouts. Sanford was at catcher.

Sanford, Carsen Weber, Smith and Hunt each had a double, and Cade Weber had a triple to pace the Titans’ offense and help their pitcher achieve a no-hitter.

RBIs: Hunt 3, Henneman 5, Sanford 2 and the Weber brothers 1 each.

The second game of the double-header was another lop-sided win for O-H, 12 - 2.

Smith was the starting pitcher, relieved by Cade Weber in the fourth inning. Smith got the win, and Weber was credited with the save.

Sanford got a double, and Cade Weber added a double and a triple to pace the Titan offense. RBIs: Cade Weber 6, Sanford 1, Smith 3.

The Titans play Selkirk in an away double-header on March 30.
