Ray Cross draws 30 schools, gets season off to good start

The track and field season began last weekend with the Ray Cross Invitational held in Ephrata on March 23. Over 30 different schools competed, ranging in size from 1B to 2A. The Odessa-Harrington girls placed ninth with 23 points. The boys did not place.

Results for the girls and boys competing are listed below:

Women’s 100 meters, Jordyn Tanke fourth in 13.56, Carley Williams 41st in 15.00.

200 meters, Jordyn Tanke fifth in 28.12, Katie DeWulf 33rd in 32.34.

400 meters, Katie DeWulf 23rd in 1:11.44, Alexis Burdick 35th in 1:28:71.

800 meters, Alexis Burdick 41st in 3:37.53.

100-meter hurdles, Lanessa Simon 20th in 20.10.

4x100 relay, team of Koralynne Kuch, Jordyn Tanke, Carley Williams, Hannah Schmidt 6th in 54.47.

Ephrata won the boys’ contest with 105 points, and Richland High won on the girls’ side with 151 points.
