The results for Odessa and Harrington from the Lincoln County Fair have arrived. Below are the entrants who were recognized by the judges for some kind of special award. The participants are from Odessa unless otherwise noted.
David Eldridge won a trophy in the 4-H Intermediate (Int) Round Robin event for small animals.
Marcus King won Overall Grand Champion and 4-H Grand Champion in the 4-H Market Steers; Trevor King won Overall Reserve Grand for a 4-H Market Steer and Max Greenwalt won the award of FFA Grand Champion. Caleb Singer won two awards in 4-H Sr. Fitting and Showing: one for overall barn Showman and one for reserve Grand. Bradly Singer won the Reserve Grand award in 4-H Jr. Fitting and Showing and Macey Singer won Grand Champion in the Open Fitting and Showing.
In the Open Horse competition, Mackennzie Braun won Grand Champion for her stallion. Morgan Lewis and Porter Whitmore each won a trophy in the leadline horse competition.
In Poultry, David Eldridge was awarded Grand Champion in the 4-H Int. Fitting and Showing. David Hayashi won Grand Champion in the Open Jr. Fitting and Showing and Jonathan Hayashi was awarded Reserve Champion in the same competition. Elizabeth Hayashi won Reserve Champion in the Open Teen Fitting and Showing.
In Rabbits & Cavies, Melloney Deife won the People’s Choice for her Mini Rex Rabbit and Elizabeth Hayashi won the Grand Champion in the Open Cavey Breed Class. Jonathan Hayashi won Reserve Champion in the Open Cavey Breed Class. Elizabeth Hayashi. Jonathan Hayashi won Reserve Champion in the Open Cavey Fitting and Showing and David Hayashi won Reserve Champion in the Open Jr. Rabbit Fitting and Showing.
In Sheep, Debra Armstrong of Harrington, won Grand Champion in the FFA Breed Class. She also won Grand Champion in the FFA Jr/Sr Fitting and Showing. Porter Whitmore won Grand Champion in the Under 7 Fitting and Showing.
In Crafts and Fine Arts, Ashley Schenk, Harrington, won Best of Show in Swirl-Oil Painting. She also won Best of Show in Parked for Good-Water Color. Susan Jensen won a Special Award for her Conservatory Picture Frame, April Wraspir won a Special Award for her Fairy House, Laurie Wilson won a Special Award for her Glass Plant Stand and Cindy Lee, Harrington, won the Commissioners Award for her Heart Bridle.
In Floral, Troy Eldridge won a Special Award for the Largest Sunflower Seed Head.
In the Junior and Teen Department, Kyla Simpson, Harrington, won the Teen Commisioner Award in the Leather/Rope Halter Class.
In Knitting and Crocheting, Clarene Haynie won Best of Show for her Knitted Alpaca Stole.
In Photography, Riley Roller, Harrington, won Jr. Best of Show for Dawn of the Lilies; Susan Jensen won an Adult Special Award for a European Collared Dove; Mandi Braun won an Adult Special Award for A Rebel Sunset; and Stephanie Wilson won an Adult Special Award for Mountain Stream.
In Quilts, Michelle Bang, Harrington, won Best of Show for Figgy Pudding Christmans.
In Scrapbooking, Stephanie Wilson won a Special Award for Apparel Design Portfolio.
In Sewing, Audrey Beck won Best of Show for her Baby Bunting. Stephanie Wilson won two Special Awards: one for a Corn Husk Dress and one for a Red Wool Jacket. Audrey Beck won a Special Award for a Green Dress.
In Legos, Jonathan Hayashi, Jr. won a Special Award for Ferrari Erecto/Lego.
All the Horshoe Contest winners were: Al Stipe and Chet Ness, first place-$100.00, Loren Totusek, Odessa, and Montey McGauglin, second place-$62.50, Earl Heitman and Caleb Bowdish, third place-$37.50.
