Jamborees get volleyball season off to flying start

The Odessa-Harrington Titan Volleyball Jamboree was held September 10 in Odessa. Jamborees are gatherings of several teams that play against one another on a more limited basis than during the regular competitive season. The winner of each match is determined by the results of three games (in regular season matches, a team must win three out of five games to become the winner). Jamborees get the season off to a good start for all participating teams.

At the O-H Jamboree, the Titans defeated Moses Lake Christian Academy by scores of 21-14 and 21- 6.

O-H then played Entiat and again won, 21-11 and 21-17.

In the final matchup, O-H played Lind/Ritzville/Sprague (LRS) to a split decision, with O-H winning 21-12 in the first game and LRS winning the second game 22-24.

The LRS Tournament took place in Ritzville September 14. The first matchup for the Titans pitted them against the host team, and LRS won two games to O-H’s one. Scores were 16-25 LRS, 25-17 O-H and 14-16 LRS.

The second matchup pitted O-H against St. Georges, and the Titans won the first two, 25 - 5 and 25 - 6.

In its final matchup, O-H faced off against Northport, again winning the first two games handily, 25-16 and 25-10.
