Titan boys win two, lose one prior to holiday break

Senior forward Jacob DeWulf scored a game-high 21 points, plus pulling down 11 rebounds and nabbing 2 steals. Sam Schafer had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals; Shane Whitaker 12 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal; Carsen Weber 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals; Trevor King 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist.

St. John-Endicott was within10 points in the second half, but the Titans outscored them 10-5 in the fourth quarter to get the win.

Liberty

Friday, December 20, the Titan boys played at Liberty High School, going down to defeat, 68-41.

Sam Schafer led all scorers with 23 points for the Titans, plus 5 rebounds and 9 steals. Weber had 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals; Whitaker 2 points; Colt Sanford 1 steal; King 4 points, 1 rebound; Largent 0, DeWulf 5 points, 2 steals.

The Lancers were shooting well, scoring on 22 of 34 field goal attempts and getting 50 percent of their 3-point attempts.

Curlew

Against Curlew on Saturday, December 21, the Titans and Cougars were both having trouble hitting their shots. The Titans squeaked by Curlew, 36-33.

DeWulf had 16 points to pace the Titans, plus 12 rebounds and 1 steal. Schafer added 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals; Whitaker 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal; Weber 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals; Sanford 3 rebounds; King 1 rebound; Largent 2 points, 2 rebounds.

With just 16 seconds left on the clock and down by only two points, Curlew missed their chance to tie the game. Odessa-Harrington shot 24 percent from the field, unable to make a single one of the team’s 19 attempts at three-pointers. Curlew was slightly better, shooting 26 percent.
