Titan boys get second place in holiday BB tournament

The Odessa-Harrington Titans played in the Davenport Christmas Tournament on December 27 and 28. On Friday, the Titan boys overcame the host team to win 44-36.

Sam Schafer led the Titans with 15 points, also nabbing 1 rebound and 7 steals in the win against Davenport, a team to which the Titans lost only a short while ago. Carsen Weber added 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals; Shane Whitaker 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals; Colt Sanford 2 points, 2 rebounds; Trevor King 3 rebounds; Jacob DeWulf 7 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals.

Against Rosalia for the chamlpionship on Saturday, the Titan boys held their own in the first two quarters, leading by three at the half. The Titans were not able to sustain the effort in the second half. Rosalia outscored the Titans on the strength of Craig Nelson’s game-high 33 points and 20 rebounds.

The scoring was very even among the Titan players, as Weber led the way with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals. Whitaker followed with 11 points, 1 steal; Schafer 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals; DeWulf 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal; Sanford 4 points, 1 rebound; King 2 rebounds.
