Letter to the Editor; Comparing deficits of FDR and Obama in second terms

To the Editor:

Our President has been reading the polls and they are causing him to make mistakes. Unfortunately he chose to bemoan his predicament on MLK Day which was really in questionable taste. He tried to play the Rodney Dangerfield and the race card when nationwide people of most races were marching together. History should have told him that the second term has been tougher for many presidents. He needs to recognize that positive results are what America needs to see for their support to be earned. He had two years with a blue House and Senate and all he did was manage to increase our national debt. The number of disabled, on food stamps and various other costly programs rose steadily!

He has had about the same period of time to implement his signature health care program as FDR used to formally enter WWII and take control of both the Atlantic and Pacific war theaters. With the united support of the vast majority of Americans, FDR kept the deficit well under a trillion dollars.

America was a powerful nation, but sadly, now we are not!
