Criminal Disposition

Christopher Michael Mundall, 36, of Reardan, pleaded guilty March 25 to riot while armed (amended through plea negotiations from three counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon). His sentence included 81 days jail (credited as served), $800 court costs plus restitution and attorney fees to be determined, forfeiture of firearms, a year's probation, drug/alcohol evaluation and treatment, and a one-year no-contact order protecting the victim. The charge involved a Nov. 25, 2013, incident in which several gunshots were exchanged between two men at a residence north of Reardan. A woman and 5-year-old boy also were involved. He was originally arrested by sheriff's deputies on two counts of attempted murder (domestic violence). Explaining his plea, Mundall wrote that he accepted the "plea bargain in order to avoid the risk of being convicted of more serious and numerous offenses."
