O-H vs. Reardan
Game 1
On Tuesday, April 1, the Titan baseball team played a doubleheader at home in Odessa against Reardan, losing both games, but putting forth a good effort.
The first game score was 18-4. Weber had a double and two singles, Johnston 2 singles and Hunt a single to pace the Titan offense. Winslow and Behrens got on base after being hit by pitches. Johnston had two stolen bases, and Messer and Weber each had one.
Winslow was the starting pitcher, going four full innings and into the fifth. He threw 105 pitches, of which 49 were strikes. Messer relieved him in the fifth, getting 15 strikes on 26 pitches. Winslow allowed 7 hits for 12 runs. He threw four strikeouts and walked eight. Messer allowed 6 runs on 4 hits, while walking one and striking out one.
Game 2
The second game score was 17-6. Johnston had two singles and Messer, Weber, Winslow, and Dennison each had one. Winslow and Jennings got on base after being hit by pitches. Messer had two stolen bases and Johnston had one. Johnston was also caught stealing once and picked off once.
Johnston pitched the first three innings, and Weber came in as a reliever in the fourth and pitched two more. Johnston allowed 9 runs on 5 hits and Weber allowed 8 runs on 5 hits. Johnston threw 69 pitches (45 strikes), and Weber threw 55 pitches (25 strikes).
O-H vs. Republic
Game 1
Against Republic on April 5, the Titans again lost both games of the doubleheader, as the team deals with bringing along its mostly young players. Game one’s score was 15-1. The O-H’s only run came on a solo home run by Carsen Weber. Weber also had three singles in the game and Colton Hunt had one. Johnston had a stolen base.
The starting pitcher was Weber who pitched three innings, allowing 9 runs on 7 hits. He walked four and struck out two. Weber threw 79 pitches (41 strikes). Winslow relieved Weber in the fourth and pitched two more innings. He threw 49 pitches (23 strikes).
Game 2
Game 2 was a 10-0 shutout. Johnston got two hits, one of them a double, and Messer had a single, but the Titans did not score..
Johnston as the starting pitcher threw 54 pitches (31 strikes). In relief, Messer threw 30 pitches (18 strikes) and Weber threw 23 (10 strikes). Johnston allowed five runs on six hits, Messer three runs on three hits and Weber two runs on one hit.
