In two recent meets, the track and field team for Odessa-Harrington put their efforts toward preparing for the upcoming district meet.
At a NE 1B/2B league meet held in Odessa May 6, the O-H boys grabbed a first place team finish, while the girls took fourth place.

In the 100-meter run, O-H’s Garret Braun was 4th in 13.06 seconds. Colby Sooy was 9th in 14.21.
In the 200 meters, Cole Kissler was 3rd in 28.33.
The 800-meter race saw three Titans finish one after the other, Jacob DeWulf 2nd in 2:29.04, Tyler Paris 3rd in 2:30.33 and Trevor King 4th in 2:38.86.
In the 1600 meters, Paris finished 4th in 5:41.63.
The 110-meter, 39-inch hurdles were run by Sam Schafer who finished first in 17.88 and Aaron Gies who was 2nd in 19.99.
In the 300-meter, 36-inch hurdles, John DeWulf was 2nd in 50.81, Aaron Gies 3rd in 53.48 and Cole Kissler 4th in 55.48.
The 4x100 relay team of Aaron Gies, Jacob Dewulf, Garret Braun and Tyler Paris finished 5th in 53.39.
The Titans were one, two in the 12-pound shot put, with Sam Schafer first with a heave of 41-10.00 Trevor King 2nd with 38-03.00. Jacob DeWulf was 7th with 36-03.50, and Colby Sooy 10th with 30-08.50.
In the 1.6-kg discus, King finished 4th with 107-10 and Sooy was 11th with 68-00.
Throwing the javelin, Jacob DeWulf was 3rd at 115-00, John DeWulf 9th at 101-01, Garret Braun 13th at 91-04, Cole Kissler 16th at 86-10, Tyler Paris 17th at 86-09, Colby Sooy 22nd at 66-00.
In the pole vault, Sam Schafer was 2nd at 9-00.00, Cole Kissler 3rd at 8-06.00 and John DeWulf 4th at 8-06.00.
Sam Schafer won the long jump with a leap of 20-02.00, with Garret Braun 8th at 15-04.50 and Aaron Gies 9th at 15-03.50.
In the triple jump, John DeWulf was 2nd at 33-08.00.
For the girls, Jordyn Tanke won the 200 meters in 28.08 and Chelsea Fisher was 8th in 33.05.
In the 400 meters, Fee Pilger was 6th in 1:22.18.
Jenna Shafer was 2nd in the 800 meters in 3:11.27.
In the 4x100 relay, the team of Hannah Schmidt, Jordyn Tanke, Carley Williams and Chelsea Fisher took first place in 57.51, and in the 4x200 relay the team of Hannah Schmidt, Carley Williams, Jordyn Tanke and Chelsea Fisher was first in 2:01.49.
In the shot put, 2nd place went to Fisher at 25-03-00, and Jenna Shafer was 11th at 21-05.00.
In the discus, Shafer was 6th at 73-07 and Pilger 17th at 40-04.
Shafer threw the javelin 81-08 feet for second place.
Hannah Schmidt was first in the long jump at 14-10.00, Carley Williams 4th at 13-02.50 and Fee Pilger 13th at 10-10.00.
In the triple jump, Hannah Schmidt was 5th at 27-10.50 and Carley Williams 7th at 25-09.50.
May 13 league qualifer
The NE 1B/2B league qualifier on May 13 in Mead saw Titan Sam Schafer win four first-place titles, the 100 meters in 11.43 seconds, the 200 meters in 23.03 seconds, the long jump at 23.03 feet and the triple jump at 40-08.50 feet.

Cole Kissler finished 57th in the 200 at 27.25, 17th in the 300-meter hurdles in 53.80, 43rd in the javelin at 88-00 feet and 8th in the pole vault at 9-00.00 feet.
Jacob DeWulf was 15th in the 800 meters in 2:28.35, 12th in the shot put at 37-02.00 and 10th in the javelin at 126-08.
Tyler Paris was 9th in the 800 meters in 2:20.27, 20th in the 1600 meters in 5:19.18 and 41st in the javelin at 90-07.
Trevor King finished 21st in the 800 meters in 2:40.93, 11th in the shot put in 37-08.50 and 8th in the discus in 112-08.
Aaron Gies was 7th in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.54a, 16th in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.47 and 17th in the long jump with 15-06.25.
John DeWulf finished 11th in the 300-meter hurdles in 49.10, 31st in the javelin at 98-08, 9th in the pole vault at 8-06.00 and 9th in the triple jump at 35-00.50.
Colby Sooy was 44th in the shot put at 30-01.50, 34th in the discus at 76-00 and 59th in the javelin at 75-04.
James Mann was 54th in the shot put at 23-11.75, 48th in the discus at 59-03 and 69th in the javelin at 41-01.
Colton Melgren was 55th in the shot put at 23-06.25, 56th in the discus at 42-02, 62nd in the javelin at 73-04.
The 4x100 relay team of Garret Braun, Jacob DeWulf, Tyler Paris and Aaron Gies was 12th in 51.53.
On the girl’s team, the 4x100 relay squad of Hannah Schmidt, Lanessa Simon, Carley Williams and Jordyn Tanke took 3rd in 53.85, and the 4 x 200 relay squad of Hannah Schmidt, Lanessa Simon, Chelsea Fisher and Jordyn Tanke also took 3rd in 1:51.20.
Jordyn Tanke took 4th in the 100 in 13.50 and 5th in the 200 in 27.84.
Hannah Schmidt placed 6th in the 100 in 13.73 and 5th in the long jump at 14-11.00.
Carley Williams was 25th in the 100 in 15.35, 18th in the long jump at 13-04.25 and scratched in the triple jump.
Chelsea Fisher was 17th in the 200 in 30.98, 10th in the shot put at 27-06.50 and 28th in the long jump at 12-08.75.
Fee Pilger was 34th in the 200 in 35.13, 18th in the 400 meters in 1:18.78, 44th in the discus at 41-08 and 36th in the long jump at 11-07.00.
Jenna Shafer was 15th in the 800 meters in 2:59.99, 28th in the shot put at 22-06.75, 21st in the discus at 69-09 and 10th in the javelin at 84-11.
Lanessa Simon was 40th in the long jump at 11-01.00 and 4th in the triple jump at 32-00.50.
