Marcus King, the son of Todd and Terri King of Odessa, had the overall grand champion steer at Lincoln County Fair in August.
Laela Hardung and her horse Ginger on Saturday of fair took first place in the open division and a fifth place in the halter class. Laela is the daughter of Joel and Danielle Hardung.
Melloney Deife with her grand champion hog in the Market Division. With her is the hog's buyer, Stacey Hunt of Ritzville Warehouse.
Daeton Deife shows his reserve champion hog in the buyer's ring at the fair. He and Melloney are the children of Dallas and Suzie Deife.
Colton Messer of Marlin won a blue ribbon for his booth containing a bee exhibit. Melloney Deife of Odessa won a special award for her Cutos of Pink poster
In Herdsmanship, the Beef Barn won in the Large Animal category and the Poultry Barn won in the Small Animal category.
In the Round Robin competition, Bradly Singer of Odessa won the 4-H Jr. Large Animal trophy, David Eldridge the 4-H Int. Small Animal trophy and David Hayashi the Open, Small Animal trophy.
Beef
Showing steers at this year’s fair, Marcus King of Odessa had the Overall Grand Champion and the Market Grand Champion in the 4-H Market Steer class. Older brother Trevor King had one 4-H Market Steer that was the Market Grand Champion and another that was the Market Reserve Champion. He also had the Reserve Champion in the 4-H Senior Fitting & Showing category. Colton Hunt had the Reserve Grand Champion in 4-H Int. Fitting & Showing, while Bradly Singer had the 4-H Jr. Fitting & Showing Grand Champion, and his sister Macey Singer had the Reserve Grand Champion. Competing in the FFA Fr/So Fitting & Showing category, Max Greenwalt had the Grand Champion and Colby Sooy had the Reserve Champion. Sooy also had the FFA Overall Market Steer Grand Champion. Colton Hunt had the 4-H Feeder Steer Grand Champion and Bradly Singer won the Commissioner’s Award for his steer.
Goats
Emily Nixon had the 4-H Jr. Fitting & Showing Reserve Grand Champion, and Morgan Lewis won Best of Show for her pet goat.
Horses
In the 4-H Horse department, Janaye Wilkie of Harrington was the Grand Champion in Showmanship.
In the Open Horse department, Morgan Lewis and Porter Whitmore of Odessa won trophies in the Leadline category.
Poultry
David Eldridge of Odessa won the Grand Champion award for 4-H Int. Fitting & Showing. David Hayashi was Grand Champion in the Open Jr. Fitting & Showing category, and Jonathan Hayashi was Reserve Champion. Jonathan Hayashi was also awarded Grand Champion in the Open Jr. Pigeons category. David Eldridge was the Grand Champion in 4-H Int. Eggs, and David Hayashi received both the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion awards in the Open Jr. Eggs category.
Rabbits & Cavies
Melloney Deife won the People’s Choice award for her Mini Rex Rabbit. In the Open Cavy Breed Class, Elizabeth Hayashi won the Grand Champion award and Jonathan Hayashi won the Reserve Champion award. David Hayashi was Grand Champion in the Open Jr. Rabbit Fitting & Showing category. Jonathan Hayashi was Grand Champion in the Open Jr. Cavy Fitting & Showing category, while younger sister Sarah Hayashi was the Reserve Champion.
Sheep
Debra Armstrong of Harrington had the Reserve Champion FFA Market Lamb. Cody Larmer of Mohler had the Reserve Champion Open Market Lamb. Porter Whitmore of Odessa had the Reserve Champion Open Breeding Ewe. Debra Armstrong of Harrington was Grand Champion in FFA Jr/Sr Fitting & Showing. Porter Whitmore was Reserve Champion in Open Jr. Fitting & Showing.
Swine
Melloney Deife of Odessa won the Overall Market belt buckle. Drew Hardung of Odessa/Harrington was Grand Champion in 4-H Jr. Fitting & Showing and Izabelle Kramer of Harrington was Reserve Champion. Dakota Largent of Odessa was Grand Champion in 4-H Sr. Fitting & Showing. Drew Hardung had the Grand Champion 4-H Jr. Market Hog, while Daeton Deife of Odessa and Izabelle Kramer of Harrington had Reserve Champions. Camden Weber of Odessa had the Grand Champion 4-H Int. Market Hog. Melloney Deife had a Grand Champion Open Market Hog.
