'Scouting for food' helps Odessa Food Bank deliver

Odessa Cub Scout Pack #784 will be Scouting for Food, Saturday, November 8, picking up bags of groceries for the Odessa Food Bank.

The Scouts will be delivering empty bags to the residents of the Town on Saturday, November 1, giving the community a week to shop and share from their bounty.

The winter months are always the most difficult for those who are on fixed incomes. The Food Bank, under the auspices of the Odessa Community Ministerial Association, also helps with heating bills and with the unknown ups and downs that happen in life.

The Scouts will also place a grocery cart at Odessa Foods for your convenience. The groceries in the cart will be collected until Sunday, November 9.

The Food Bank serves approximately 60 families during the holiday season. Donations make it possible to be a monthly stop-gap and continue serving the needs throughout the coming year. “Donations are always welcome, whether monetary or in non-perishable goods,” said Julie Jantz, food bank coordinator.
