Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Oct. 20: A caller reported the theft of a stabilizer hitch from property in the 35000 block of Miles Creston Road.

The owner of farmland adjacent to Bull Run Road north of Reardan reported someone drove a vehicle into his field and caused extensive damage to irrigation lines.

A caller reported suspicious and possible drug-related activity in the 800 block of Park Street in Davenport.

A woman told dispatchers that three llama halters, a horse halter and a 17-foot homemade lead rope were missing from property in the 35500 block of SR 231N in the Reardan area. About a month ago, someone had cut through fences to gain access to the property, but the caller hadn’t noticed anything missing at that time.

Davenport firefighters responded to a report of a broken natural gas line in the 1400 block of Sinclair Street.

Deputies became involved in a dispute over a baler between family members in the vicinity of Hume Road north of Davenport.

Deputies placed a man into custody after he was found lying with a bicycle nearby in a ditch adjacent to U.S. 2 east of Davenport.

Unable to locate any teachers after school hours, a Reardan High School student told local police that someone to whom he had loaned a pair of headphones had refused to return them. An officer referred the matter to school personnel and the headphones were back in the boy’s possession shortly thereafter.

Tuesday, Oct. 21: A 22-year-old man was placed into custody as a suspect in the theft of pain pills from a residence in the 30600 block of Mielke Road East south of Davenport.

A Davenport woman reported someone in a vehicle knocked over a garbage can in the 800 block of Washington Street.

Davenport emergency personnel responded to a report of a man having an asthma attack in the 1100 block of Morgan Street.

A Davenport woman described several “strange” phone calls she received. Someone was just breathing on one call; subsequent calls included a voice saying “Barbara” and “I am going to come see you next month.”

Someone was observed using a vehicle to spray gravel over another man standing at the intersection of 3rd and G streets in Sprague.

A Sprague woman reported the theft of clothing items from a residence on Stromberger Road North.

Wednesday, Oct. 22: A Davenport man reported that someone had entered a garage without permission in the 1400 block of Jefferson Street.

Odessa Police responded to a report that a pickup truck had driven through a wall at the La Collage Inn at 609 East 1st Avenue. The vehicle’s horn continued to blare as the driver attempted to shut it off. A man was placed into custody for driving while under the influence.

Thursday, Oct. 23: The driver of a vehicle traveling on U.S. 2 east of Davenport at a high rate of speed (about 92 mph) was responsible for running another vehicle off the road and into a ditch. A deputy reported he was passed by the vehicle near Oehlwein Road and was successful in pulling it over before it had entered Davenport.

A Harrington woman claimed she was denied access to an apartment and to her vehicle in the 300 block of West Main Street.

A Davenport man related his concerns that a burglar may have been inside his garage in the 300 block of Merriam Street.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of South 1st Street in Creston.

A collision involving a deer and vehicle took place on U.S. 2 near the AgLink, Inc., facility on the west side of Reardan.

Lincoln Hospital personnel treated an 8-year-old boy after he was bitten by a dog at a residence on Bald Ridge Road.

Friday, Oct. 24: Deputies took a man into custody after a pursuit of a reportedly stolen vehicle on Batum Road near Davis in the west portion of the county. During that pursuit, occupants of the vehicle were observed throwing things from a window.

A deputy advised a man spotted placing bags of personal garbage into a receptacle near the Davenport City Park to stop that practice.

Three deer carcasses that had been skinned out and boned were found along Janett Road north of U.S. 2 east of Davenport.

A caller reported a possible domestic dispute in the 300 block of South 1st Street in Harrington.

Three chainsaws were reported missing from a shop building in the 300 block of North 3rd Street in Harrington.

Alcohol is believed involved in a one-vehicle rollover collision reported on the I-90 frontage road near Sprague.

Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 20-year-old man who had lost consciousness in a bathroom in the 800 block of Park Street.

A Harrington caller advised of hearing four gunshots near the grain elevators in the vicinity of 4th Street. A responding deputy determined fireworks had been launched to celebrate a wedding scheduled on the following day.

Odessa Police investigated a reported theft of shopping carts from a residence at 12 East 5th Avenue.

Saturday, Oct. 25: Three county jail inmates were caught tampering with the mechanism on their cell doors to allow them to come and go freely while the door appeared to be closed.

Deputies investigated a narcotics-related incident in the Creston area.

Dispatchers took a report of possible “rage driving” involving a vehicle on SR 25 about 11 miles north of Davenport.

Deputies assisted in the removal of a man appearing to be camping on land between SRs 174 and 21 and U.S. 2 just west of Wilbur.

Wilbur ambulance personnel were called in after a couch fell on the 49-year-old woman who was moving it inside a residence on Sherman Road.

A man was taken to jail for driving while under the influence after a pickup truck was observed “all over the roadway” on U.S. 2 near its intersection with SR 25 east of Davenport.

Wilbur Police responded when a tenant at the 8 Bar B Motel reported being awakened by banging on his door from an apparently intoxicated woman who “seems really out of it.”

Responding to Chiefs Bar and Grill, Odessa Police intervened in a dispute between a man and woman over a cell phone.

Sunday, Oct. 26: After a possible burglary was reported at a mobile home in the 300 block of West Main Street in Harrington, the suspect, a former tenant, explained he had been there trying to locate some of his cats. The explanation satisfied the property owner and a responding deputy determined no crime had occurred.

Wilbur firefighters extinguished a wood pile fire at the River Rue RV Park adjacent to SR 21.

A tree blocked the eastbound lane of Hume Road near its intersection with Miles Creston Road.

Dispatchers took a report that two vehicles racing on U.S. 2 near Davenport had forced another vehicle from the roadway.

An “extremely rude” customer reportedly harassed a barista at an espresso stand on the east side of Davenport.

A group of juveniles is suspected of causing extensive damage to a residence in the 37500 block of Larene Road East. Broken windows and damage to upholstery inside were reported.

A loose pit bull dog was reported in the 500 block of SE Pope in Wilbur.

Criminal Sentencing

Julie Ann Hickam, 53, Reardan, pleaded guilty Oct. 14 to first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree theft (amended through plea negotiations from residential burglary, second-degree burglary and third-degree theft). The charges involved incidents between July 7 and 13 of last year at a residence in the 300 block of North Birch in Reardan, from which several items were taken, including a sewing machine, stroller and BB gun. Her sentence includes eight days jail (credited as served), $15 restitution, $700 court costs and a no-contact order.

Civil Judgments

Justin W. and Karina L. Tikka, doing business as Justin Tikka Construction in Davenport, must pay $1,510.14 in unmet tax obligations to the Washington State Department of Revenue.

Jonathon Luke Gullard, doing business as LG Painting & Sons in Davenport, must pay $1,334.07 in unmet worker’s compensation obligations to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

In two separate filings, Michael W. and Sherri Lynn Frederick, doing business as Chiefs Bar and Grill in Odessa, must pay $551.72 and $535.38 in unmet worker’s compensation obligations to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.
