Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Nov. 10: Emergency personnel from Davenport and Reardan assisted a 77-year-old woman who had fallen in her bathtub.

A caller reported a sign with the message “I love my girl. Sorry” was placed near a bridge on SR 21 just north of Coffeepot Road.

Deputies investigated a possible scam incident involving a county resident.

Dispatchers were advised of a tall man in his early 20s who seemed to be casing places as he walked around Sprague’s downtown district.

A rollover collision occurred while two men were using a pickup truck to tow another vehicle on Olson Road near its intersection with Denny Station Road in the Edwall area.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an incident that concluded with a vehicle going into a ditch adjacent to SR 174 and Alderson Road near Wilbur. The driver suffered several cuts, abdominal pain and a possible broken nose and was transported by ambulance to Coulee Community Hospital for treatment. A tow truck driver who responded to the scene later lost consciousness and died.

Responding to the vicinity of Lake Street and Broadway Avenue (U.S. 2), Reardan Police arrested a suspect for taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission.

Tuesday, Nov. 11: Sprague emergency personnel responded to the scene of a vehicle leaving I-90 at high speed and ending up in a ditch.

A deputy assisted a woman who locked herself out of her vehicle after parking it at Davenport Family Foods.

A deputy worked Davenport city code violations in the 1000 block of Tenth and the 900 block of Main Street.

Deputies investigated a trespassing report involving property on Moore Road north of Reardan.

Wilbur Police responded to a report that a truck was stolen from the 600 block of NW Cole.

Wednesday, Nov. 12: Deputies investigated trespassing reports in the vicinity of Spring Canyon Road.

Deputies investigated a couple of related trespassing and harassment cases involving Davenport residents.

A man was observed camping in a flimsy tent in the gravel pit adjacent to U.S. 2 near Sterrett Road west of Davenport.

A rock broke the outer glass of a window at Davenport Vision Source, causing about $700 damage.

No one was reported hurt as a result of a two-vehicle collision in front of Wilbur High School, believed to have been caused by a failure to yield.

Wilbur and Creston firefighters handled a garage fully engulfed by flames in the 300 block of Division Street in Wilbur.

Thursday, Nov. 13: A resident of the Redwine Canyon area reported her vehicle had been stolen during the night.

An abandoned bicycle was discovered at the U.S. 2 weigh scales between Davenport and Reardan.

A 17-year-old Creston girl suffered cuts to her cheek after the vehicle she was driving struck an Avista power pole adjacent to Swanson Lake Road.

A caller reported the theft of a bag of Navy uniforms from a vehicle parked outside Davenport Elementary School.

A caller told dispatchers of a hitchhiker dressed in dark clothes who posed a traffic hazard while walking on SR 28 between Harrington and Davenport.

A man was detained after deputies responded to a domestic violence situation at a residence on Moore Road north of Reardan. A woman said she had been pushed out the door of the home.

Deputies took a man into custody after responding to a report that a man grabbed a woman’s neck and took her to the ground in the 500 block of Spring Street in Davenport.

Wilbur Police investigated a woman’s report of finding a garage open in the 300 block of SE Milmont, with the door, glove box and console of a vehicle inside also open.

Wilbur Police responded to the 500 block of SW Regent Avenue, where a woman had been bitten by a dog.

Friday, Nov. 14: A deputy responded to a report of a deceased woman at Serene Meadows in Davenport.

Davenport Family Foods personnel reported that a man had used another person’s credit card to purchase groceries.

A duffel bag was reported missing from a pickup truck that was broken into while parked at the Porcupine Bay boat launch while its owner was on the lake.

A caller reported seeing an unattached stock trailer loaded with cattle on Tramm Road near its intersection with U.S. 2 east of Reardan that had partially blocked traffic for almost 1½ hours.

Deputies investigated a possible child abuse incident in the Harrington area.

A “newer” car was discovered “completely burnt up” by Reardan and Edwall firefighters responding to a report of black smoke near the intersection of Bald Ridge and DeVore roads northeast of Davenport. Deputies determined the vehicle had been stolen and a man was later arrested as a suspect.

A Sprague woman reported the theft of about $3,000 from a residence on Lake Road.

Deputies responded to a report of a rear-end collision involving two vehicles on U.S. 2 near Davenport.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on U.S. 2 near Reardan.

Saturday, Nov. 15: Damage was done to a shop door that someone kicked in the Bachelor Prairie area north of Creston.

Sunday, Nov. 16: Deputies responded to a trespassing incident involving property adjacent to Hume Road East north of Davenport.

Mental health personnel assisted a 13-year-old Davenport boy reportedly expressing suicidal thoughts.

Extensive front-end damage resulted from a collision involving a vehicle and deer on Crescent Road near its intersection with SR 231 north of Reardan.

Criminal Sentencings

Dylan Eugene Timpani, 26, pleaded guilty Oct. 14 to second-degree burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and first-degree theft (amended through plea negotiations from two counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of first-degree theft). His sentence includes 68 months in prison, $800 court costs, restitution of $1,348 and $232.05 to two Sprague residents whose vehicles and tools were taken in December of last year from property adjacent to SR 23 near Schirr Road. An additional $9,956.95 restitution to one of the property owners and his insurance company will be shared with co-defendant Matthew Glen Low, 25, who was sentenced in July.

Brandon W. Kuehne, 32, pleaded guilty Oct. 27 to four counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm (amended through plea negotiations from three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, residential burglary, six counts of theft of a firearm, five counts of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree theft, and third-degree theft. His sentence included 78 months in prison, restitution of $975 and $1,860, respectively, to two Spokane residents whose property was removed from Creston and Wilbur during November and December of last year, $800 court costs plus attorney fees. An additional charge of failing to make contact with his probation officer in February was withdrawn by the prosecutor.

Civil Judgment

509 Fabrication LLC, doing business as Charley’s Restaurant and Lounge in Almira, must pay $1,143.61 in worker compensation taxes to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

New Criminal Case

Nicholas Warren Finley, 26, of Fruitland, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle and second-degree burglary in connection with the Sept. 23 taking of a Polaris ATV from a resident of the 100 block of Sinclair Street in Davenport. The vehicle was recovered a week later in an alley in Spokane.

Probate

The guardianship file concerning an alleged incapacitated man, 40, from Odessa, was transferred from Spokane to Lincoln County.

A small estate affidavit was filed for Marilyn June Blackford, of Medical Lake, who died Aug. 29.
