Quilters enjoy annual festive dinner

Members and friends of the Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, enjoyed a no-host catered meal, quilt-related games and a fabric exchange Monday, December 1. In attendance at the evening’s festivities, held at Any Occasion Banquet Hall with the meal prepared by Helping Hands Catering, were 27 ladies and one gentleman.

President Debbie Buscher welcomed members and guests and made announcements of upcoming events. Laura Estes facilitated games and exchanges.

Linda Gustafson and Sherie Heimbigner were the winners by people’s choice vote, in the freesia color fabric challenge. The 2015 Challenge, sponsored by Laura’s Sage Country Quilts, is Strawberry Ice, and the challenge rules and the required fabric sample are available at Experience Quilts! in Odessa. There is no cost to enter.

Secret Quilting Sisters were revealed, and a new name adopted, Secret Quilting Pals, as there is now a male member in the guild. Membership is open to all and there are no dues. Participation in Secret Quilting Pals is optional. Meetings are held every Monday evening at 7 p.m., except on major holidays, in the Odessa Museum Barn. Contact Laura Estes at 982-2908 if interested.
