Titan boys drop two over winter break from school

The O-H Titan boys had two games over the winter holiday break. On December 30, the team traveled to Liberty High School for a game against the Lancers. The non-league game was a complete romp over the Titans, as Liberty took the contest 69-27.

Colt Sanford was high scorer for the Titans with 8 points. He also contributed 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Sam Schafer was right behind Sanford with 7 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. Carsen Weber and John DeWulf scored 5 points each, with Weber adding 1 rebound, 2 assists and 3 steals. Steven Braun scored 2 points and had 1 rebound. Dakota Largent and Shane Whitaker did not score but contributed 1 rebound each.

The Titans were ice cold from the floor, making no 3-pointers and only 36 percent of their attempts from 2-point range.

Floch Games

On January 3, the Titan boys faced off against the Wilbur-Creston Wildcats in Moses Lake as part of the Ryan Floch Memorial Games. W-C defeated the Titans, 58-48.

Whitaker was the scoring leader for the Titans with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Schafer was not far behind with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Weber chipped in 10 points, plus 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Colton Hunt had 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Sanford and Brad Johnston had 2 points each, with Sanford also getting 1 rebound and Johnston getting 3 rebounds.

The Titans improved their shooting efforts by more than 10 percentage points, so they were warming up their game as the winter break came to a close.
