The Marlin dance hall will reopen with the first spring dance. The hall has been closed for a short period, during which dances would have conflicted with the Firemen’s Ball and other scheduled dances. The manager, Stanley Wraspir, indicated that the special dances are over and he will resume dances every two weeks.
The crew working at the Harrington warehouse for the Odessa Union Warehouse company, razing the structure preparatory to converting it into a bulk wheat storage place, found four of its members injured when the rafters collapsed.
Injured by the falling timbers were: Dave Wolsborn, head injries that caused him to be taken to a Spokane hospital; Tony Groh, head injuries that left him in a state bordering on unconsciousness until late in the evening; Edwin Kuest, a strained back; and Herb Kuest, sprained ankles sustained when jumping clear of the wreckage.
Meaanwhile, at the Keller Motors’ garage in Odessa, John Schimke was about to start a fire with the aid of cleaning fluid, when a match tossed by a smoker ignited the stove, sending a blast of gasoline flames into his face, inflicting first degree burns. He was immediately placed under the care of Dr. L.J. Bonney.
Meanwhile word was received from Cheney that Leon Walter’s car had been in a collision with another car, owned by a Cheney banker, and that although Walter was reported unhurt, the other man entered a hospital. Damages to the Walter car were estimated at $250.

The Odessa Grange Supply reported their earnings for 1964 to be $551,000. A substantial dividend was paid, David Weber, president of the board of directors, reported, especially in the fertilizer department.
One-hundred-thirty members were present for the 32nd annual membership meeting, and the Grange Ladies served a noon luncheon at the City Hall.
Airman Third Class Paul J. Kuch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kuch of Odessa, graduated from the technical training course for U.S. Air Force jet engine mechanics at Amarillo AFB, Texas.

The Odessa Tigers boys basketball team fought through district to qualify for state, according to Coach Tom Wolsborn. They played Cusik in the climactic matchup. Going into the state competition, the Tigers stood at 17-8 on the season.
Contestants for Odessa’s Young Woman of the Year were Holly Bell, daughter of Bill and Carol Bell; Jody Kolterman, daughter of Keith and Becky Kolterman; Chelsea Walter, daughter of Bruce and Debbie Walter; Janice Jantz, daughter of Mel and Sharon Jantz;Toni Weishaar, daughter of Tom and Debbie Weishaar; and Julie Zagelow, daughter of Larry and June Zagelow.

Candidates for Miss Odessa were Alesia Best, daughter of Casey and Susie Largent; Andrea Kuch, daughter of David and Rhonda Kuch; Andrea Largent, daughter of Bud and Linnie Largent; and Sara Fink, daughter of Neil and Lecia Fink.
Nancy Glines was named president of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce with Lois Fisher, vice president.
Odessa FBLA students placed in both speaking and written events at the Northeast Region Winter Conference held in Spokane Valley in February. Megan Allen received a first place trophy in Who’s Who in FBLA, with Larissa Zeiler taking second place. Other students receiving awards were Sara Fink and Alesia Best, Kory Kolterman, Aaron Wilson, Kendall Fisher, Logan Luiten, Kenna Schutz and Matthew Zeiler. Thirty-one members attended the conference from Odessa.
