Open houses seek input for regional transport system

A good transportation system is essential to Central Washington’s quality of life and economic prosperity. At four open houses in April, community members are invited to learn about a four-county regional transportation planning effort and share their ideas about what transportation improvements should be considered.

The counties of Adams, Grant, Kittitas and Lincoln – and the cities and towns within them – make up a Regional Transportation Planning Organization called QUADCO. QUADCO supports the region’s communities in maintaining and developing safe, reliable, and cost effective transportation options for people, goods and services. QUADCO’s Regional Transportation Plan is being updated to provide a consistent and meaningful method for making transportation decisions.

Open House attendees will be able to view informational displays, speak with regional experts and share their opinions in a variety of ways, including a survey. For those unable to attend, the survey and additional information are available at http://www.QUADCO-RTPO.com. Interested parties can drop in at any time during the two-hour open houses, as no formal presentation is scheduled.

Each open house is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m.
