In a few weeks, several activity-filled packages will be introduced during the live auction at the Odessa Healthcare Foundation’s 24th Annual Wine Tasting & Auction, held at the Community Center on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. Whether you want to venture near or far, these exciting opportunities will capture the attention of many.
Gig Harbor may be calling your name with this fabulous action-packed getaway. Heritage Distilling Co., the most awarded craft distillery in North America in 2014, generously donated an opportunity to experience a My Batch Program for up to eight people. This three-hour educational experience allows you to be legally involved in the making of your own spirits – whiskey, gin, or vodka. Along with a tour of the facility, and food pairing with some of their products, participants will get to bottle the spirits they produced that day. Learn more about the My Batch experience at http://www.HeritageDistilling.com.
Also included in this Gig Harbor Getaway Package is a two-hour, harbor tour graciously donated by Destiny Harbor Tours. Eight guests can choose either a tour of Gig Harbor, the Narrows Bridges, past Salmon Beach and Pt. Defiance, or a tour of the Port of Tacoma, working waterways, wildlife and Puget Sound. During this cruise you will surely discover wildlife, history, and the ecology of the Puget Sound. Find more information about Destiny Harbor Tours at http://www.destinymarine.com.
Another activity-based package introduced this year is a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Jerry and Joan (Heimbigner) Nye and JALA, LLC, donated a three-night stay in a family suite at the Best Western by Mammoth Hot Springs in Gardiner, Mont., located at the north entrance to Yellowstone Park by the Roosevelt Arch. Whether you plan a snowmobiling trip in the winter or visit the park during warmer weather, you can capture the great outdoors with a GO PRO Hero4 camera donated by Jason and Danielle Scrupps. This package also includes various Yellowstone books to assist in planning your trip.
Want to stay local, instead? Well then, gather up your girlfriends for a fun Ladies Night Out. The Grange Supply of Odessa has contributed a package for four to dine at the mouth-watering Clinkerdagger’s in Spokane. Following dinner, venture downtown to Pinot’s Palette. This upscale establishment is an art studio, where anyone can be an artist. Learn to paint, while listening to music and sipping on beverages. Also included is an overnight stay at the Davenport Hotel.
Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Earth, held in downtown Spokane, is another local event that many from our community attend. Hotel accommodations are almost impossible to find, however Odessa Drug has generously donated a two-night-stay (June 26-27th) in the Gonzaga Suite at the downtown Oxford Suites, which includes breakfast each morning. Along with hotel accommodations, this package includes a portable rolling igloo cooler, filled with goodies to enhance your Hoopfest experience. Whether you play in the tournament or attend as a fan, be sure to check this package out.
The business community of Soap Lake has kindly contributed a “Soap Lake Getaway Package for Two”. This package includes a gift certificate to Don’s Restaurant, tickets to the Masquers Theatre, a one night stay in the Jacuzzi suite at Notaras Lodge, breakfast at J & J Diner, 18 holes of golf at the Vic Meyers Golf Course at Sun Lakes (includes power cart, golf balls and tees), and three bottles from Cougar Liqour.
For all you bowling enthusiasts, Lake Bowl in Moses Lake has donated a bowling party for 40 people. In addition, bowlers are treated to an all-you-can eat taco/nacho bar. This package would be perfect for a birthday party or a large group gathering.
