Track and field meets in Springdale and Chattaroy result in personal records

At Mary Walker High School of Springdale on Tuesday, April 28, the Titans faced other 1B/2B schools, with the boys' team taking first place and the girl's team placing second.

Results – boys

In the 100 meters, Sam Schafer was third in 11.62, Cole Kissler was 13th in 12.69, John DeWulf 16th in 12.79 and Colby Sooy 29th in 13.59.

In the 200 meters, Cole Kissler finished fifth in 25.92.

In the 800 meters, Tyler Paris finished fifth in 2:24.87, and in the 1600 meters he was seventh in 5:26.63.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Sam Schafer took first in 17.37, and Aaron Gies was third in 17.97

In the 300-meter hurdles, Schafer was again first in 43.74, Gies again third in 46.11, John DeWulf fifth in 48.27 and Cole Kissler 13th in 54.93.

Trying out a new field event, Schafer took second place in the shot put with 39-09.00, Connor Perry (no placement) put the shot 32-07.00, Colby Sooy finished 13th at 31-04.00 and James Mann 21st at 24-05.00.

Competing in discus, Sooy was fourth at 102-08, Perry threw for 97-07 and James Mann was 17th at 72-00.

O-H had seven competitors in the javelin, with DeWulf finishing second at 134-09, Connor Perry throwing for 108-05, Kissler coming in 13th at 104-08, Gies 14th at 101-00, Paris 20th at 95-00, Sooy 22nd at 93-08 and Mann 36th at 52-05.

There was no pole vaulting competition at this meet.

In the high jump, Perry cleared 5-06.00.

O-H had no competitors in the long jump.

In the triple jump, DeWulf took first place at 39-03.00.

Results – girls

In the 100 meters, Jordyn Tanke finished second in 13.58, Shelbey Watkins was seventh in 14.47 and Casey Schlomer was 18th in 15.44.

In the 800 meters, Harrington freshman Amber Smith was fourth in 2:56.28.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Watkins was second in 18.37.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Tanke took first place in 53.02 and Watkins took second in 54.18.

In shot put, Jenna Shafer was ninth at 25-08.00, and Evie Mann was 20th at 18-11.00.

In discus, Schlomer was fifth at 83-09, Shafer was eighth at 76-09 and Mann 29th at 43-04.

In the javelin, Shafer was third at 96-01, Schlomer fourth at 91-10, Tanke 15th at 70-07, Lanessa Simon 19th at 65-07 and Mann 28th at 42-04.

In the high jump, Simon was second at 4-06.00, Tanke tied for eighth at 4-04.00 and Smith was 10th at 4-02.00.

As for the boys, there was no pole vault competition.

In the long jump, Simon was fifth at 14-03.00 and Smith was 14th at 11-09.25.

In the triple jump, Simon was second at 30-05.25 and Smith was fourth at 26-03.00.

Results – girls

Jordyn Tanke took fifth in the 100 meters in 13.43a, third in the 200 meters in 27.75a and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.03a. Also in the 100-m hurdles, Shelbey Watkins was 21st in 19.82a and 11th in the 300-m hurdles in 53.79a.

In the shot put, Shafer was 23rd at 25-03.00.

The discus competition had Schlomer ninth at 94-03 and Shafer 21st at 72-00.

In the javelin, Schlomer was fifth at 99-08 and Shafer ninth at 92-03.

In the high jump, Simon was 13th at 4-08.00 and Watkins 29th at 4.00.

Simon was fifth in the pole vault at 8-00.00 and Schlomer was 18th at 6-00.00.

In the long jump, Simon was second at 16-00.25 and Tanke was 19th at 13-07.25.

Simon took seventh in the triple jump 32-09.00.

Riverside Invite

On Friday, May 1, the Titans participated in a meet at Riverside High School in Chattaroy, setting 22 personal records in the process, according to head coach Travis Schuh.

In the 200 meters, Schafer placed second in 23.01a, and Cole Kissler was 22nd in 25.55a.

Tyler Paris ran the 800 meters in 2:23.32a for 19th place and the 1600 meters in 5:18.72a for 17th place.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Aaron Gies finished eighth in 17.90a.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Gies was eighth in 45.60a and John DeWulf was 11th in 46.57a.

In the 4x100 relay, the team of Cole Kissler, Tyler Paris, Colby Sooy and Aaron Gies was 15th in 50.39a.

In the shot put, Colby Sooy was 29th at 31-03.00 and James Mann was 39th at 25-05.00.

In the discus, Sooy was 25th at 97-04 and Mann was 36th at 68-11.

In javelin, DeWulf was seventh at 137-08, and Kissler was 33rd at 96-01.

In the high jump, Connor Perry was sixth at 5-04.00.

In pole vault, DeWulf finished 13th at 9-06.00 and Kissler finished 19th at 8-00.00.

The long jump contest provided another first place for Schafer with a leap of 21-05.00. Perry was 26th at 14-05.00.

In the triple jump, Schafer was second at 42-05.50, and DeWulf was fourth at 41-01.00.

Results – girls

In the 100 meters, Jordyn Tanke finished sixth in 13.19a, and Shelbey Watkins was 17th in 14.31a.

In the 200 meters, Tanke came in fourth in 27.38a.

The 400 meters had freshman Amber Smith finishing 20th in 1:11.75a, and 18th in the 800 meters in 2:52.52a.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Tanke came in 24th in 20.13a, and in the 300-meter hurdles sixth in 50.96a, while Watkins was 10th in 53.12a.

In the shot put, Jenna Shafer was 21st at 25-01.00 and Evie Mann was 35th at 21-03.00.

In the discus, Casey Schlomer was 13th at 89-11, and Shafer was 20th at 79-08.

In the javelin, Shafer finished fifth at 103-01, and Schlomer was sixth at 101-02.

In the high jump, Lanessa Simon finished in 11th place at 4-06.00, and Smith was 17th at 4-04.00.

In the pole vault, Simon was ninth at 7-06.00 and Schlomer was 18th at 6-06.00.

In the long jump, Simon was seventh at 15-01.25 and Watkins was 26th at 11-09.25.

In the triple jump, Simon finished eighth at 31-11.25 and Smith was 15th at 27-05.50.
