Alex McGregor to deliver keynote address for ACDC

“An Unquenchable Optimism and a Tenacity that Verges on Stubbornness: Let’s Grow” is the title of the keynote address Alex McGregor will deliver on Friday, June 26, during the Adams County Development Council’s Annual Banquet in Ritzville.

McGregor has viewed more than 2,000 images from the Adams County Historical Society’s archives in preparing his visual presentation. He has parlayed images from Adams County’s past with a vision for the future.

McGregor is the owner of “the largest independent fertilizer, agriculture-chemical, and equipment dealer in the Pacific Northwest.” He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Washington and has taught at Whitman College and UW.

In 2013, he and his company received the Spokane Chamber of Commerce Community Revitalization Award for his work in LaCrosse. In 2014, he received the Farmer-Consumer Awareness Day’s Honorary Farmer of the Year Award in Quincy.

The banquet will be held at the C.J. Newland American Legion Memorial Hall at 106 W. Broadway Avenue in Ritzville. The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served by Classy Country Catering at 6:30 p.m.

The Adams County Development Council will present its annual report. The non-profit economic development group will celebrate entrepreneurship by featuring a number of startup businesses that are based in Adams County. The event will feature VduV Wines made by the Phillips family. The wines served were made using grapes grown in Adams County.
