Free movie night, Doggy Daze, Opera House event
The Harrington PTA is sponsoring a free event, an outdoor movie to be shown in front of the Harrington Elementary school, on Thursday, August 27, at 8 p.m. Drinks, goodies and popcorn will be sold at the event.
Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Doggy Daze will be held near the Harrington Opera House, with “dog washing” provided by Carol, as a yearly treat, and “grooming” furnished by Kristi Poteet, owner of “Me Too!”, a dog boarding and grooming business. Other activities include a moving sale by Amy Foley at her newly established business, Rusty Lark, where all is offered for 25% off. Ken Kennedy invites patrons to visit his Ebay Real World Storefront, also on Third Street. God’s Closet, at the Community Church, will be open from noon to 3 p.m., where all clothing is free.
The early part of the week was spent preparing the Harrington Opera House for its first event of the fall season. On Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m., the group Nu-Blu will perform bluegrass music. This will be an opportunity for everyone to enjoy music and view the many changes that have occurred in the opera house auditorium.
