The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Monday, Oct. 5: Kids were out throwing eggs in the Davenport city limits.
Welding equipment was reported stolen from a residence near the Sprague Motel on East 1st Street.
A deputy advised a man not to continue burning insulation from wiring on property adjacent to SR 28 just west of Kellum Road in the Odessa area.
After an elderly man with bloodshot eyes told a deputy who stopped him on U.S. 2 near Davenport for a traffic offense that he was tired, not intoxicated, he was advised not to drive.
Deputies investigated a possible assault involving a woman and man at a Creston area residence.
A Harrington farmer spraying a field adjacent to SR 23 discovered a large box with Japanese writing on it and a parachute.
Tools were reported missing after a burglary at a construction site adjacent to Kramer Road near Almira.
A Porcupine Bay area resident reported her home burglarized with food taken from the refrigerator and freezer. An investigating deputy determined that this was actually a trespassing incident.
Someone mounted a spotlight and pointed it at a neighboring house on Wild Turkey Lane near Creston.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported at Broadway (U.S. 2) Avenue and Laurel Street in the heart of Reardan.
Odessa Police responded to a woman’s report of a “severe argument” involving herself and two other individuals concerning rental property in the 400 block of East 3rd Avenue.
Odessa Police investigated the theft of two tackle boxes and a fish finder from a boat in the 300 block of South Cedar.
An Odessa woman told police she sent $100 to remove a virus after receiving an email that described her computer as infected.
Reardan Police investigated a report of a broken window near Lake Street and Broadway Avenue (U.S. 2).
Tuesday, Oct. 6: A caller observed a man “pleasuring himself” while driving east on Interstate 90 in Lincoln County.
A Davenport woman reported a phone scam incident.
A caller reported hearing people walking and whispering outside a bedroom window in the 1200 block of Eighth Street in Davenport. She told dispatchers she has previously found cigarettes and beer inside the house, indications that it has been entered in the past.
Someone, perhaps hunters, cut through a barbed wire fence on private property at Warwick and Red Bridge roads near Davenport.
A deputy checked on the welfare of a Davenport area resident described by a caller as possibly contemplating suicide.
A Sprague woman reported someone in Illinois made unauthorized purchases totaling $1,600 with her credit card number.
A caller reported a cabin on Hanson Harbor Road was broken into and that someone trashed the yard and adjacent shed.
After a call from the owner of property on Old Sprague Highway between Sprague and Fishtrap, a responding deputy gave a verbal warning to a trespassing hunter.
Reardan Police investigated the theft of two mopeds from a shed in the 200 block of South Elm Street.
Wednesday, Oct. 7: Firefighters from Reardan and Edwall handled a power pole on fire along SR 231 just south of Naff Road.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place near the intersection of Crescent and Farwell roads near Reardan.
Responding to the 800 block of SE College, Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a man who choked on a pill, transporting him to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.
Someone threw large rocks in the direction of children fishing in the Long Lake Dam day use area.
Loose cattle and the removal of survey stakes from property near Marlin and Irby roads became points of contention between residents of the vicinity.
Two deputies responded to a “juvenile problem” at Davenport Middle School.
A deputy advised a group of students influenced by Spirit Week at Davenport High School to stay out of the backyards of residences in the 700 block of Marshall Street.
Reardan Police responded to a report of a 7-year-old girl having a seizure on a school bus.
More than $800 was charged without permission to the account of a Reardan woman who reported her debit card missing.
Thursday, Oct. 8: Burlington Northern Santa Fe crews worked on repairs to a malfunctioning railroad crossing at Waukon Road near Edwall.
An injured deer with an arrow was found in a yard on Eagle Nest Road in Deer Meadows.
A man knocked on the front door of a Seventh Street residence in Almira and advised the woman who answered to “call the cops” about a “confrontation” he said was about to happen at a neighboring house.
A Creston man reported a possible scam involving a compound bow he wanted to sell for $550 on Craigslist, a check for $2,150 he received from a Florida municipality and instructions from the buyer to take $600 and give the remainder to a moving company.
Deputies investigated an incident in Davenport involving alleged possession of prescription medication without a corresponding prescription.
Traveling in his patrol car in the vicinity of Miles Creston and Lakeview Heights roads, a deputy swerved to miss a deer and hit a reflector on the side of the road.
MedStar aerial ambulance transported a 79-year-old man described as breathing but unresponsive from the Lincoln boat launch to a Spokane hospital.
Deputies took a man into custody after he was reportedly intoxicated and breaking things inside a residence in the 1100 block of Ninth Street in Davenport.
A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on Riffe Road near Reardan. A similar incident was reported on U.S. 2 near Davenport.
Odessa Police assisted with the investigation of a possible child abuse incident.
Friday, Oct. 9: A smoke machine accidentally set off fire alarms at Wilbur High School.
A caller told dispatchers he was tired of having to clean up beer cans discarded by a group of people in vehicles parked and partying at the end of Bull Run Road north of Reardan.
Law enforcement officers interviewed a suspect in connection with multiple incidents of graffiti in the Wilbur area.
Claiming it had been sold without his permission, a Sprague man requested assistance in getting an Arabian horse returned.
A Davenport woman said she felt uncomfortable during the second phone survey from “Spokane Valley Health” in two days. The survey takers told her she had won a prize.
After discovering bullet holes in two plastic lawn chairs, a target and used casings on property adjacent to Houck Lane, a Seven Bays resident reported someone apparently is using his place for target practice.
A Davenport woman told dispatchers someone had phoned her, claiming to be in Pakistan and threatening to kill her daughters. A responding deputy determined the source phone number was in common use for phishing scams.
Someone stole a sign and cut off the chain on a gate on property adjacent to Porcupine Bay Road.
Deputies were unable to locate a man who was observed discarding a cigarette from the vehicle he was driving on U.S. 2 near Creston.
Reardan Police responded after a woman reported her vehicle had been stolen from the 100 block of East Railroad Avenue.
A Reardan man reported that he had been robbed of his billfold, money and phone by three women.
Saturday, Oct. 10: Davenport firefighters extinguished a hay bale on fire on SR 25 about six miles north of the city. The bale fell from a pickup truck and was ignited by the exhaust pipe.
No one was reported hurt after a vehicle went off Max Harder Road and into a barbed wire fence about three miles west of Sprague.
A caller reported a wallet was stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Thirteenth Street in Davenport.
A deputy advised residents in the 200 block of Marshall Street in Davenport that their yard fire was in violation of the current burn ban. A similar situation took place on property near SR 231 and Thompson Lane East in the Reardan area.
Deputies responded to a report from the Almira area of a man who may have been threatening someone with a gun.
A Wilbur woman told local police that while walking her dog in the 500 block of Armstrong Street, a man yelled at her to go away.
National Park Service personnel investigated a report that trees were being cut down on NPS property adjacent to Miles Road.
Sunday, Oct. 11: One wearing camouflage shorts pulled over his jeans and a headband, the other in a dress, two apparently intoxicated male occupants of a green Volkswagon van parked at Sixth and Morgan streets in Davenport aroused suspicion when they attempted to enter several businesses while walking in the downtown area.

From Oct. 6 to 12, 32 inmates from outside Lincoln County were held in the county jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections.
Oct. 7: Brian E. Bjur, 47, Cheney, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for failing to appear for driving while license suspended.
Oct. 8: John S. Granchie, 27, Davenport, arrested by LCSO for malicious mischief (domestic violence).
Fawna D. Swan, 29, Spokane, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for driving while license suspended.
Oct. 9: Amanda L. Wynne, 30, Spokane, confined two days by the court for driving while license suspended.

Criminal Sentencing
Jimmy Lynn Gilmore, Jr., 41, Airway Heights, pleaded guilty Sept. 29 to second-degree assault (domestic violence) with intent to do substantial bodily harm. His sentence includes 90 days confinement with 54 credited as served, $975 court costs plus undetermined restitution and attorney fees, 12 months community custody, compliance with a five-year no-contact order protecting the victim, and prohibitions against having or using firearms, alcohol, marijuana and non-prescribed drugs. The charge involves an Aug. 8 incident at the Porcupine Bay campground that resulted in a woman suffering a fractured right nasal bone and other injuries. A responding deputy wrote that despite knowing the alleged victim for several years, he initially did not recognize her due to the extent of her injury. Appearing in court as the case was finalized, Gilmore apologized and attributed his actions to problems with alcohol. The judge characterized the crime as “a very vicious attack with blood apparently everywhere.”
New Criminal Case
Corey Lynn Butler, 44, of Airway Heights and/or Spokane, is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft and first-degree malicious mischief in connection with about $33,880 worth of damage done to an American Tower building and cell tower on Macabee Road in Sprague between March 1 and May 8, and the taking of copper conduit, wire and other materials.

Alleging breach of contract, Capital One Bank seeks payment of $1,541.88 in credit account debt and court costs from Mark E. and “Jane Doe” Gossett of Harrington.
