Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
P.C. Jantz Elementary School will again be hosting an Unwrap the Gift of Reading event for students in pre-K through fifth grade. Students and parents are invited to enjoy a story time, snacks and caroling. New and popular projects and activities will be offered in the game and craft centers. The event will take place in the school cafeteria on Monday, December 7, starting at 6:30 pm.
Upon signing in, families will receive a ticket that tells them the order in which they will proceed to different centers. In the craft center, they will make Santa ornaments and nutcracker ornaments. The game centers include Christmas themed, hands-on math activities, some of which even have prizes! The story reader will share new and favorite Christmas stories. Tasty and healthy snacks will be available throughout the evening.
This event is sponsored by Title 1-A and LAP. We encourage families to continue the tradition of wrapping new, used or already owned books for their children to unwrap and read during the evenings leading up to Christmas.
In an effort to support math as well as literacy, children may also take home a math game. Donations of books and gift wrap, along with parental help, are always welcome. For more information, contact Bev Scherr at 982-2111.
