Meet Nan Brokaw, interim clinic provider
Last week Tuesday, members of the Odessa community gathered in the atrium of the hospital to bid farewell to physician's assistant DJ Jones. He was recruited to join the Odessa staff in May of 2014. Since that time he and his wife has been searching for a suitable home to purchase or a property on which to build. Neither effort bore fruit, and ultimately the couple decided they were best off staying put in the Cheney area. Jones will work at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane as part of an orthopedic surgical team.
Although Jones is leaving his position as a permanent employee, he has agreed to return to Odessa on an as-needed basis. He has already signed on to provide care during the Stumpjumper events in March/April.
Nanette Brokaw, ARNP Family Practice, arrived from San Antonio, Texas this past weekend to begin seeing patients at the Odessa Clinic and working with Linda J. Powell, MD on December 1. She is currently scheduled to work until the end of February at both the Odessa Clinic and Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center while the search continues for a permanent provider to fill the spot vacated by DJ Jones, PA-C.
Brokaw has been a registered nurse for more than 20 years and was certified as a nurse practitioner three years ago. She has a 19-year old daughter in college. She loves cats and in fact has three kitties at home. Her hobbies include genealogy and reading books. She is also a fan of the television show, The Walking Dead.
She is happy to see patients for all family practice needs including physicals and well exams for all ages, care of chronic conditions, foot care, ear wash, to name just a few areas. Appointments can be scheduled with her through the Odessa Clinic at 509-982-2614. If you see her around town, please welcome her and help her to feel at home during her stay in Odessa.
