Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!
Dog licenses are required by an ordinance of the Town of Odessa. Each license is good for one year and is renewal each January. The purpose of the licensing fee is to help cover the cost of finding lost dogs or corraling loose dogs and returning them to their owners. The kennel for stray animals that belongs to the town has fallen into disrepair, and efforts to replace it are currently at a standstill. Odessa’s police force does not want to have to put any animals into the current kennel, so having dogs licensed and tagged helps them find their owners and return them.
The cost is $10 per dog per year. Owners are asked to renew each year, so that current information is on file.
