Golf course, clubhouse open Friday

Odessa Golf and RV will open for the 2016 season this Friday, March 25. The clubhouse will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. This weekend is also Easter weekend, and the golf course and clubhouse will remain open Sunday for those wanting to golf or enjoy a lunch or dinner out. During the season, the clubhouse and restaurant are open seven days per week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The clubhouse menu is much the same as it was last year during the season, but some new items have been added. Several patrons had requested a breakfast sandwich, and so the clubhouse crew now offers a croissant with bacon or Canadian bacon, egg and cheddar cheese that is available all day.

Also new is a warm spinach and artichoke dip served with tri-colored tortilla chips. Chef salad joins the menu, too, while the three other salad choices from last year remain. A new house specialty is a beef or chicken taco wrap that includes taco meat or fajita chicken strips, along with refried beans, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, olives and cilantro pesto wrapped in a tortilla and grilled. Taco flatbread also joins the menu with refried beans, taco meat and shredded cheese baked and then topped with lettuce, tomato and a drizzle of cilantro cream. Meat Madness is another flatbread meal topped with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, crumbled bacon and sausage, topped with a melted mozzarella cheese blend.

Desserts have also made an appearance this year, as homemade Mud Pie and Banana Creme Pie are offered as individual portions or as family-size, take-home desserts.

All of the clubhouse menu items can be ordered for dining in or as take-out meals.

The clubhouse also has a section dedicated to golf apparel that can be purchased by the public. The course offers cart storage, cart rental and access to RV parking with hookups. On Mondays at the Odessa golf course, patrons can play golf all day for $15.
