Brad Johnston pitched the first three innings against St. John in the first game of a doubleheader in that town on April 5 and set the tone for the rest of the game by allowing only two hits, no runs and striking out five batters.

Meanwhile, the Titan batters came on strong, earning five runs in those same first three innings. Camden Weber relieved Johnston in the fourth but had an off game. After giving up a hit and walking five batters, resulting in five earned runs, he was relieved by Josh Clark who finished out the game by striking out one and allowing no hits or runs.

The Titan batters added 10 points in the final two innings. Throughout the game, Titan baserunners kept St. John off balance by stealing bases whenever the opportunity arose. Jayd Jennings, Jaden Hunt and Marcus King all had one stolen base, while Johnston and Colton Hunt had three each and Messer, Weber and Theron Schlomer had two apiece. Schlomer was also caught stealing once. Runs batted in were by C. Hunt with three, Clark with two and Schlomer and J. Hunt with one each.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Titans jumped on St. John’s starting pitcher for 10 runs in the first inning, then added four points in each of the third and fourth innings.

Chance Messer was the starting pitcher for this game, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking three. Colton Hunt relieved Messer after three innings, allowing one run on one hit and walking two.

Stolen bases were far rarer in game two. Only Jennings had a successful steal. Weber was picked off. J. Hunt ended the game with four RBIs, Weber had three, Clark two and Messer, C. Hunt and Schlomer had one each. J. Hunt, King and Jakob Starkel each scored on an error.
