OH Titans go to Cheney for Big Red Invitational

The Titan track and field team headed to Cheney Saturday for the Big Red Invitational where they competed with 29 other teams ranging in size from 1B to 4A.

Out of 24 teams, the boys placed 18th overall, with Wenatchee, East Valley and Mead taking the top three slots. The girls were 15th overall out of 23 teams with Wenatchee, East Valley and Lind-Ritzville-Sprague taking the top three places.

For the girls, Shelbey Watkins was 31st in the 100 meters with a time of 14.48, 11th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.24 and 12th in the 300-meter hurdles in 54.23.

Lanessa Simon took fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 28.44, 10th in the pole vault at 7-06.00, fourth in the long jump at 15-07.50 and third in the triple jump with 32-09.00.

Destiny German was 46th in the shot put at 23-08.00 and 61st in the discus at 54-05.

Casey Schlomer placed fourth in the discus at 100-06, eighth in the javelin with 103-00 and 24th in the pole vault at 6-06.00.

For the boys, the team of Gaven Elder, Colby Sooy, Aaron Gies and Cole Kissler placed 14th in the 4x100 relay with a time of 48.45.

Gaven Elder placed seventh in the 100 meters with 11.78 and 22nd in the long jump at 17-08.00.

Cole Kissler placed 39th in the 1600 meters with 5:25.84, 42nd in the javelin with 107-08 and 28th in the pole vault at 8-00.00.

Aaron Gies was seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with 17.08 and third in the 300-meter hurdles with 44.15.

Colby Sooy placed 37th in the shot put with 34-01.00, 18th in the discus with 107-02 and 26th in the javelin at 120-10.

Colton Melgren placed 68th in the discus with 34-00 and 65th in the javelin at 120-10.

The Titans head to Lakeside High School April 20 for a NE 1B/2B League meet and then head to Quincy for the Quincy Invite on Saturday, April 23.
