Silver anniversary bash a hit

The silver anniversary of the wine tasting, microbrew tasting and auction put on by the Odessa Healthcare Foundation to benefit the local medical campus was a well-attended event again this year. After 25 years, the event has not gotten stale or dated. The brews and wine flowed, as did the conversation. Clark Kagele did his usual stellar job of emceeing the event, and Jacob Barth of Yarbro Auctioneers returned again this year to serve as auctioneer, a profession he learned at his grandfather’s knee.

Some of the funds raised will go toward the purchase of a commercial refrigerator for the Quail Court Assisted Living facility. The residential refrigerator that has served the facility since its establishment has succumbed to old age.

The event took place on one of the warmest days of the year so far, so the temperatures inside the community center were fairly high. However, ceiling fans were turned on high and doors were opened to allow the cool night air to circulate, and the venue was comfortable.

More information will be forthcoming as The Record receives it.
