Summer Reading Program

Every Wednesday from June 29 through August 3, the Odessa Public Library will host its annual Summer Reading Program.

“On Your Mark, Get Set, READ” will allow children to explore all things sports and fitness while incorporating a love of reading all at the same time. Activities will include learning about sports/games, costume contests, craft projects, experiments, even a sock hop.

Prizes will be awarded for a wide range of activities, such as completing weekly reading logs/challenges, presenting book reports to the group and winning weekly contests or games.

Childrent in fifth grade and under are welcome to participate this year. Older children are free to volunteer for the program if they would like. Kindergarten and under will meet from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and first through fifth grades will meet from 11 to 11:45 a.m. every Wednesday during the dates listed above.

We will also sponsor a celebration at the end of the program on August 6, where we will have food, fun and prizes (details to be provided at a later date).

Please arrive 15 minutes early on June 29 to complete registration.

We ask that a parent or caregiver accompany the younger chldren. Please contact the library at 509-982-2654 if you have any questions.
