Avista seeks source of line fault

The recent power outages that have plagued Odessa over the past few weeks are still being investigated by local Avista representative Sam Mullins and his colleagues. An area outside of town was pinpointed, but replacement of nearly every piece of equipment at that location has failed to fix the problem.

Mullins said that a new testing gun was set to arrive Wednesday in hopes that a solution could be found. That means that power could fail again Thursday morning when the testing takes place.

Everyone at Avista was stumped, Mullins said, but efforts continue unabated to find the problem and fix it.

Once the fix is in place, Odessa should be able to return to year after year of no unplanned power outages. Computer dependent businesses will be very glad to return to those days. Fortunately, the recent outages have been brief for the most part. The Record will let our readers know the outcome.
