Swim lessons July/Aug.

The Odessa pool opened June 19, under the direction of this year’s pool manager Katelyn Worley and her assistants Casey Schlomer and Shelbey Watkins. Lifeguards this year are Maleah Davison, Parker Valverde, Patrick Valverde, Alayna Watkins, McKennah Davison, Rebecca Fortner, Brenna Carstensen, Mya Boss and Natosha Boss.

As in past years, the pool will be closed Mondays. Open swimming for all ages will be offered Tuesdays-Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and again from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. Adults only swimming will take place between 5 and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays.

For regular users of the pool, the best deal for families is the annual family pass at a cost of $150. An annual pass for individuals costs $60. A daily pass is $3, and a non-swimmer (e.g. parent or babysitter accompanying a small child) pass is $1.

Swimming lessons will be offered in two sessions, the first from July 11 through 22 and the second August 1 through 12. The cost of lessons is subsidized by the Friends of the Pool organization and is therefore available for the low price of $20 per individual.

During non-swimming times, the pool can also be rented for birthday parties or other types of social gatherings. Rental requires a $100 deposit, and a minimum two-hour rental period is enforced (at $50 per hour), as is the hiring of a minimum of two lifeguards (at $12 per lifeguard per hour).
