Irene Olson

Irene Olson died peacefully at home on July 25, with family by her side.

Irene was born in Wapato, Wash. on September 3, 1931. In 1946, she moved to Ritzville, where she married her high school sweetheart, Oscar Olson, in 1950.

Irene excelled as a mother and housewife, while raising a family with solid small-town values. She never missed any activity, concert, ceremony or sporting event of her children or grandchildren.

In later years she traveled all over the state cheering her grandsons’ sports teams, and most of the team players knew both Oscar and Irene.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Oscar; her children, Dwight Olson, Linda Waltman (Ed) and Kelly Olson (Lori); her grandchildren, Carrie Waltman, Jarrod Olson (Erin), Shane Olson (Courtney), Colby Olson, (Karina) and brand new great-granddaughter Emily.
