88-point win overwhelms Mustangs

By LINDA GOODMAN

The Titan football team had an exciting start to the season when they took to the road last Friday to take on the Northport Mustangs in a non-league game and returned home victorious with a score of 94-6.

For the Titans, Gaven Elder started the touchdowns early in the first quarter with a seven-yard run, also completing the two-point conversion on a pass from quarterback Colton Hunt. After that, the Titans never looked back even though Northport answered with a 60-yard pass play that put their only points of the game on the scoreboard.

Hunt then completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Brad Johnston, with Chance Messer getting the two-point conversion on a pass from Hunt

G. Elder then scored on a nine-yard pass play. Brother Sage Elder scored the two point conversion on another pass from Hunt.

The final TD in the first quarter was on a 25-yard pass play as Hunt again connected with G. Elder. The two-point conversion was run in by Jayd Jennings.

The second quarter started with Hunt completing a pass to Johnston for a 19-yard touchdown. Hunt’s attempt to run the ball himself for the two-point conversion was no good.

Relieving Hunt at quarterback, freshman Camden Weber scored next on a seven-yard QB keeper and also scored the two-point conversion.

At half time, the score was 62-6.

Josh Clark scored the first TD in the third quarter, running the ball in from one yard out. Weber ran the ball for the extra two points.

The last TD of the third quarter was a 37-yard run by Weber, followed by Jennings scoring the two-point conversion on a pass from Weber.

The fourth quarter saw Weber run for another 14 yards to score the TD, then complete a pass to Jennings for the two-point conversion.
