The agriculture department at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake has recently made improvements to its curriculum:
• A new position was added in June, agricultural education instructor/coordinator. Landra Kosa will be improving and expanding the program, advising students and, in the future, instructing students.
• The department is currently in the process of articulating transfer agreements with WSU and the University of Idaho.
• It is also working with industry and an advisory committee to define and meet the needs of industry.
• Working with the college’s new “unmanned aerial systems” (UAS) or “drone” program and development of courses and degree options pertaining to the use of such systems in agriculture.
• The ag department offers a transfer degree and a non-transfer degree.
