Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

Junior high footballers continue winning ways

The O-H Titan junior-high football team now has a 4-0 season record. The team defeated Waterville-Mansfield 74-21 on September 29, playing in Harrington.

On October 6 in Pateros, the JH Titans won again by a score of 58-12.

On offense, the team is continuing to work on execution, especially of screen plays. There has been an emphasis on blocking until the whistle and getting to blocks downfield, providing pass protection, running good routes securing the ball and running the ball hard.

On defense, the focus has been on assignments, anticipating the play, the fundamentals of tackling, rallying to the football, providing pass coverage and communication on passing plays.

Special teams have concentrated on staying in their lanes, break down to tackle and setting up blocks for returns.

The junior-high season ends October 27 in Odessa at 6 p.m. against Soap Lake under the lights. The high school FBLA chapter will be cooking burgers and curly fries. All are welcome to enjoy the game and support the FBLA.
