The general election of 2016 stunned most of the world as Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States. The seemingly endless campaign concluded with Trump gaining the 270 electoral college votes to seal his win over Hillary Clinton. Although the state of Washington’s electoral votes went to Clinton, the Lincoln County vote was overwhelmingly for Trump, with more than 72 percent of voters casting ballots in his favor.
