Edwin C. Kern

Edwin C. Kern passed away November 3, 2016 in Odessa at the age of 100. He was a lifetime resident of the Marlin/Odessa area, where he farmed and raised his family.

Edwin was born May 25, 1916 in Marlin to Fred and Matilda (Weishaar) Kern. He attended the Marlin School for grades 1-4, the Lauer school for grades 5-8 and the Odessa school for grades 9-12, graduating in 1935.

After high school, he went to work on Grand Coulee Dam from 1935-1939. While working on the dam, he married Joycelyn Frentz on August 2, 1937 in Seattle, and they made their home in Grand Coulee until they returned to Odess...
