Volleyball team plays hard

In the state volleyball tournament in Yakima's Sundome on November 11 and 12. A fire truck and two police cars accompanied the school bus through town that was taking the team to Yakima.

Quilcene

The Titan girls volleyball team lost their first-found match to Quilcene by a score of 3-1.

Leading the team in service aces with 2 and assists with 18 was Shelbey Watkins. Ty Evers led the team with 8 kills. Maleah Davison had 2 blocks and Zoe Clark had 13 digs.

Lake Quinault

Against Lake Quinault at 5 p.m. the same day, the Titans prevailed by a score of 3-1.

Zoe Clark had 4 service aces and Brenna Carstensen had 9 assists to pace the offense. Defensively, Zoe Clark had one block.

Caitlyn Schuh, Zoe Clark and Ty Evers each had 3 digs.

That win meant that the Titans would play again Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against Naselle.

Naselle

The match between Odessa-Harrington and Naselle went to five games, as neither team was willing to give an inch.

The Titans won the first two games, then narrowly lost the next three.

Sisters McKennah and Maleah Davison each had 3 service aces. Brenna Carstensen put up 30 assists.

Ty Evers had 10 kills, and three others had seven kills each: Maddy Wagner, McKennah Davison and Maleah Davison.

In blocks, Maleah Davison led with three. Zoe Clark had 19 digs.

Oakesdale was the tournament champion, defeating Pomeroy, which took home the second-place trophy. ACH placed third, Quilcene fourth, Sunnyside Christian fifth, Three Rivers Christian sixth, Naselle seventh and Rainier Christian eighth.
