The first snowfall of the winter of 2016/2017 came Monday evening and overnight to the Odessa area. Forecasts now predict a bit more snow over the weekend and temperatures expected to drop below zero at night.
Six inches of snow blanketed the town and countryside, making for a very pretty scene, but also causing treacherous driving and walking conditions. The Odessa schools started two hours late but did not have to be canceled.
