Soggy conditions mean slow start to golf season
The O-H Titan golf team has had a slow start to its season due to weather conditions. The first match at Odessa was cancelled due to poor course conditions.
The team played Inchelium at Harrington March 21, with John Tanke leading the team as the low scorer. Ritzville won the next match on March 28, where Colt Sanford was the best scorer for the Titans. Asotin was the winner of the match.
Friday, the team traveled to St. John for an invitational match on the first day of good weather. Coach Mike Greenwood said all of the O-H golfers had their best day so far, adding, “Amazing what a little sun will do.”
This year, all members of the golf team are from Harrington, and Greenwood would like to get some tourn out from Odessa.
The boys’ golf team consists of John Tanke, Colt Sanford, Caleb Behrens, Justin Baker, Travis Bradford and James Mann. The girls’ team includes Evie Mann, Riley Bradford and Tosh Sheldon. The 18-hole matches begin after spring break.
