Johnson and Cosseau are wed in Colorado

Shirley A. Johnson of Odessa recently returned from the Denver area where she attended the wedding of her son James Dean (JD) Johnson to his lovely bride Loren M. Cosseau.

Friends and family of the couple joined them for the ceremony held at Stonebrook Manor in Thornton, Colo. on July 15, 2017. His brother Michael J. Johnson and Michael's two sons, Jameson and Weston Johnson, also arrived from their home in Ft. Mohave, Ariz. Unable to attend were JD's grandmother Emma Cloud of Odessa and his sister Brianna Johnson of Longmont, Colo.

Loren or 'Lo' is the daughter of Fred and Dawn Cosseau of Denver. JD touchingly requested that his new father-in-law be his best man.

They had agreed before hand to forgo the traditional 'shove the cake in your face' and gently feed each other the first bite. The cake, layers of orange and strawberry cream-cycle, was delicious and quite unusual. The event lasted from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and was over before anyone realized it.

Soon it was time to toss the bouquet. JD's aunt Colleen and cousins urged his mother to get in line. Shirley bravely joined the ladies and deftly caught the bouquet with a left-handed snatch. Because of the couple's work schedules, they were only able to take a short, three-day honeymoon at a picturesque cabin outside of Denver. The couple reside at their condominium in Westminster, Colo.
