The Odessa team was simply not playing up to par on Saturday. Facing the number-one ranked team among 1B schools, it should have been at least a much closer score.

Gaven Elder ran 20 yards for the Tigers' first score, but the points-after attempt failed.

In the second quarter, Marcus King caught a pass from quarterback Camden Weber from nine yards out, then caught another Weber pass for the two-point conversion.

Colton Hunt caught a 17-yard pass from Weber and another pass for the two-point conversion for the Tigers' final score of the game.

Sunnyside Christian's senior quarterback Chance Marsh threw for 455 yards and six touchdowns, adding 95 yards rushing with two TDs.

For the Tigers, Elder ran for 136 yards with a touchdown and Weber threw for 132 yards with a touchdown.

It was a tough ending to a very good season for the Tigers. The team will lose only two seniors to graduation, but both Elder and Hunt will be sorely missed. Fortunately, some very talented younger players will be moving up to fill those gaps. The team can look forward to another good run next season.
