Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.
Sunday, Dec. 24: A Davenport man asked local ambulance personnel and law enforcement to respond to a residence in the 1400 block of Morgan Street to check on his elderly father who hadn’t slept in a few days and was incoherent.
Monday, Dec. 25: Ambulance personnel from Wilbur and Almira were sent to the scene of a two-vehicle collision with several injuries reported at SR 174 and Douglas Road. One individual was taken to Coulee Community Hospital.
Responding to a residence on Calvert Drive, Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a 29-year-old woman with a possible heroin overdose before transporting her to Lincoln Hospital.
A hit-and-run collision was reported on Interstate 90 near the Sprague rest area.
Odessa firefighters battled a structure fire at the intersection of West May and Alder streets. The source was believed to be in the chimney of a pellet stove.
Tuesday, Dec. 26: Reardan firefighters fulfilled a mutual aid request from Spokane and provided an engine for a structure fire on West Jacobs Road.
A caller reported someone in a white pickup truck was shooting while traveling in the vicinity of Downs, Lamona and Kramer roads.
Deputies checked out a report of pills being sold illegally at a mobile home park in Sprague.
Wilbur firefighters battled a chimney fire at a residence on Alderson Road East.
Wednesday, Dec. 27: A vehicle struck a large semi tire left in the roadway on I-90 in Lincoln County.
Thursday, Dec. 28: Members of the Spokane County Bomb Squad removed blasting caps and possibly some dynamite from a residence on Coal Creek Road near Harrington.
Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a woman who may have suffered a drug overdose.
A Sprague man told dispatchers he was almost attacked by a white and tan pit bull dog while in the 300 block of Walnut Street.
A caller reported being chased and nearly bit by a white dog that got loose in the 500 block of NW Armstrong in Wilbur.
A deputy settled a dispute involving a man and woman in Sprague.
Lincoln Hospital personnel contacted deputies about a patient who left without being authorized to do so.
Odessa Police investigated a malicious mischief incident in the 300 block of South 4th.
An Odessa resident told local police about his discovery of a dead cat on a sidewalk in the 400 block of East 1st Avenue.
Friday, Dec. 29: A hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle that struck a Washington State Patrol vehicle, a light pole and a mailbox occurred outside the Sprague fire station and emergency center.
A Davenport woman’s vehicle slid off U.S. 2 about four miles east of Davenport and into a ditch. No injuries were reported.
A caller advised dispatchers that the ice at 4th of July Lake about four miles outside Sprague was very unstable and not suitable for ice fishing.
Saturday, Dec. 30: Deputies responded to a report that a 5-year-old girl had been bitten by a German shepherd mix at a residence on Moore Road North near Davenport.
A caller expressed concern about the odor of smoked marijuana originating in an apartment unit in the 500 block of NW Armstrong in Wilbur.
Deputies responded to a report of a garage break-in with damage reported at a residence on Sprague Lake Resort Road.
Someone broke into a bathroom and lit toilet paper on fire at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa. A responding deputy determined that a smoked cigarette had been accidentally set on toilet paper.
Odessa Police investigated the possible theft of narcotics at the local hospital.
Sunday, Dec. 31: A caller expressed concern that someone appeared to be videotaping Safeway employees while they disposed of garbage outside the Davenport grocery.
Deputies checked out a report that a group of four adults and a child were living in a house in the 100 block of NW Division Street in Wilbur without the owner’s permission.
An Odessa woman told local police that someone stole a gas cap and fuel from her vehicle while parked in the 100 block of West 4th Avenue.
Monday, Jan. 1: A vehicle was discovered in the ditch alongside SR 231 near Sprague.
A vehicle caught fire while being warmed up in the 400 block of East Broadway in Reardan. The fire’s source appeared to be the fuse box on the passenger side. An airbag was deployed as well.
A Lincoln resident reported the theft of a vehicle and six firearms from his home on Skyview Court North.
A caller became concerned about a man who came to a residence on Spinning Road near Davenport while looking for a pet falcon as it got dark. The man was subsequently located and in good condition.
JAIL BOOKINGS
Dec. 26: Joshua Ryan Granchie, 24, Davenport, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for fourth-degree assault.
Danny Ellis Nash, 39, Kettle Falls, arrested by LCSO for an out-of-county misdemeanor warrant and for driving while license suspended.
Timothy Alan Welch, 49, Reardan, arrested by LCSO for failing to comply with a court order.
Dec. 28: Raymond Walter Peone, Jr., 32, Wilbur, arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.
Dec. 29: Leonardo Rios-Caballero, 38, Lamont, arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.
Dec. 30: Frank Dallas Nappo, 38, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, arrested by LCSO for violating a domestic violence protection order and second-degree malicious mischief.
From Dec. 26 to 30, five individuals, including Daniel Ross Thompson, 44, Reardan, were held in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections, two under contract with the U.S. Marshal’s Service, and one each under contract with the City of Airway Heights and Adams County.
