Strong in her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Jacqueline Y. Eide, age 86, passed away to her heavenly home on March 19, 2018 in Spokane (formerly of Odessa). A loving and kind person beloved by many, she was born on September 9, 1931 in Odessa to Roy and Lucille Haskins. She grew up in Odessa and attended school there, graduating from Odessa High School in 1949. She attended WSU and UW, and obtained her teaching degree from Whitworth College. She married Olin Eide of Stanwood, Wash. in 1953.
Jacqueline taught elementary school in Odessa for 35 years between 1957 and 1992. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, observing nature and music. In addition, many much-loved cats and dogs brightened her life over the years.
Jacqueline supported multiple charitable causes such as the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Women & Children's Free Restaurant in Spokane and the Humane Society. She was a member of and organist for Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa.
Jacqueline is survived by two daughters, Sharon Eide of Bridgeport and Phyllis Eide of Spokane as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Olin Eide.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa with Pastor Dirk Jensen officiating.
