Deer Park meet shows Tigers improving

On Friday, March 30, the track and field team competed in Deer Park at the Glen Wolf Memorial Invite. The Tigers competed against the following teams: Colfax, Deer Park, Kettle Falls, Liberty (Spangle), Lind-Ritzville, Mary Walker, Northport, Oroville, Priest River Lamanna, Reardan, Selkirk, Valley Christian, Waitsburg, Wellpinit.

As a team, the Odessa boys placed fourth with 49.5 points, tying with Valley Christian. The girls placed 10th with 38 points. Deer Park took first in the boys' competition, and Colfax took first on the girls' side.

Boys' team

100 meters

Gaven Elder tied for third with a sprinter from Valley Christian at 11.75 seconds.

Posting a time of 12.73 seconds, Jonny Hayashi tied for 17th place with an Oroville runner.

200 meters

Gaven Elder took third place with a time of 24.44 seconds.

Brady Walter ran his race in 26.01, a personal record, for 12th place.

Jonny Hayashi took 14th place in 26.22 seconds.

1600 meters

Chase Kissler was 28th with a time of 5:41.93.

3200 meters

Kissler placed fifth in this race with a time of 12:23.26.

300 meter hurdles

Pilot Weishaar was fourth with a time of 46.23 seconds.

4x100 relay

The team of Pilot Weishaar, Brady Walter, Jonny Hayashi and Gaven Elder finished second in 46.69 seconds.

Shot put

Jordyn Cooper took sixth place with a throw of 35-08.00, another personal record for him.

Brady Walter was eighth, throwing 34-03.50.

Brian McDonald was 35th with a heave of 27-06.00.

Discus

Brian McDonald finished 12th with a throw of 85-07, a personal record.

Jordyn Cooper was 13th, throwing 85-02.

Javelin

Brady Walter took 10th place, throwing 118-08 for another personal record.

Jordyn Cooper was 17th, with a throw of 103-06.

Brian McDonald finished at 32nd place at 77-02 and a personal record.

Chase Kissler was 39th with a distance of 66-03 and a personal record.

Pole vault

Pilot Weishaar took 5th at 9-00.00.

Chase Kissler was 12th at 6-06.00.

Long jump

3. Gaven Elder was third with a jump of 19-02.00.

Jonny Hayashi came in seventh at 17-09.00.

David Hayashi was 25th at 14-04.50, a personal record for him.

Triple jump

Pilot Weishaar took fourth place, jumping 36-10.25 for a personal record.

David Hayashi was 17th with a distance of 26-06.75.

Girls' team

100 meters

Josie Westmoreland came in ninth at 14.57.

Kaitlyn Zagelow was 29th at 16.86, a personal record.

100 meter hurdles

JulieAnne Lovvik placed ninth at 23.41, a personal record.

300 meter hurdles

JulieAnne Lovvik also placed ninth in this race at 1:03.72 for another personal record.

4x100 relay

The team of Josie Westmoreland, Tori Weishaar, Maddie Scrupps and Naomi Smith placed 4th in a time of 57.73.

4x200 relay

The relay team placed second in a time of 2:00.67.

4x400 relay

The team of Kenadie Elder, Katreace Boss, Maddie Scrupps and Naomi Smith placed seventh in 5:17.27.

Shot put

Caitlyn Schuh finished in fourth place with a throw of 30-06.50, a personal record.

Katreace Boss threw 19-00.00 for 33rd place.

Discus

Caitlyn Schuh finished second with a throw of 101-03.

Katreace Boss was 27th, throwing 53-00 for a personal record.

Kaitlyn Zagelow was 35th at 44-00, also a personal record.

Javelin

In fourth place, Caitlyn Schuh threw 87-11.

Kenadie Elder was 13th at 63-06.

Katreace Boss was 16th at 61-09, a personal record.

High jump

Kaitlyn Zagelow was 11th with a height of 3-06.00.

Pole vault

Tori Weishaar came in 5th at a height of 6-06.00.

Long jump

Naomi Smith finished eighth with a distance of 13-10.00, bettering her mark of last week by two inches.

Kenadie Elder came in at 13th place at 12-07.00 for a personal record.

JulieAnne Lovvik was in 25th place at 8-05.50, also a personal record for this freshman.

Triple jump

Maddie Scrupps took second place with 26-06.25 for a personal record.

Kenadie Elder was 13th with a jump of 26-05.75.
