Tigers do well at state T&F meet

Last Friday and Saturday, May 25 and May 26, the Odessa Tiger track and field team sent several athletes to the state 1B competition at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. Results for the Odessa athletes are listed below:

Odessa's star sprinter Gaven Elder took second place in the 100-meter race in a time of 11.61.

The girls 4x100 meter relay placed seventh in the finals in a time of 54.31.

In the 4x200-meter finals, the Tiger team of Josie Westmoreland, Tori Weishaar, Maddie Scrupps and Naomi Smith placed fifth in a time of 1:54.81.

Tori Weishaar took sixth place in the girls' pole vault at 8 feet even.

In the 4x100-meter relay, the boys team of Pilot Weishaar, Brady Walter, Jonny Hayashi and Gaven Elder placed second with a time of 45.40.

In the boys 200-meter dash, Gaven Elder placed fourth for Odessa in a time of 23.75.

In the boys shot put, Jordyn Cooper finished sixth with a heave of 37-10.50.

In the girls javelin, Caitlyn Schuh did not medal but finished in 12th place with a throw of 94-03.

In the boys pole vault, Pilot Weishaar just missed medaling by finishing ninth at a height of 10-06.00.
