Margaret Alice Schlimmer

Margaret Alice Schlimmer (85 years old) passed away on July 12, 2018, in Odessa, Wash. Marg was born June 19, 1933, in Stanford, Mont. to Don and Billie (Drew) Myrick. She grew up in Stanford, graduating in 1951. Margaret and Loren (Laddie) Schlimmer were married in November of 1951 at Camp Roberts, Calif., where Laddie was serving in the U.S. Army. He shipped out to South Korea in April of 1952, where he served on a wire team. Laddie safely returned home in July of 1953. Upon leaving military service, the young couple took over the family farm from Laddie's parents who had retired to Odessa.

The couple's first child, a son, William Gene, was born in 1952, followed by a daughter, Juli Anne, in 1957. Marg was involved in the Marlin community and was treasurer for the Marlin Presbyterian Church until it closed in October of 2013. Marg enjoyed spending time with her family, driving wheat truck during harvest, bowling, cooking dinners with the VFW Auxiliary ladies and reading. Marg is survived by one daughter, Juli (Robin) of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Debbie Schafer of Odessa; seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Melanie) Schlimmer of Bainbridge, Ga., Jake Schlimmer of Wilbur, Megan Schlimmer of Odessa, Nicholas (Kim) Weishaar of Ritzville and LeeAnne (Harrison) Nikolao of Cheney; seven great grandchildren: Hadyn and Carter Schlimmer, Zoe and Joshua Clark, Hattie Nikolao, Tate and Titus Weishaar; two sisters, Shirley Miller and Midge Warrington; numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Marg was preceded in death by her husband, Loren (Laddie) Schlimmer in March of 2011, two sons, an infant son in 1965 and Bill Schlimmer in 2002, her parents Donald and Billie Myrick, her brother William Myrick and a sister Carol Mills Greenwalt.

She was a member of the Marlin Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
